Metalurg Lions have confirmed the signing of Darko Jovanovski from 'Macedonian Kings' on a season long loan.

The former Barca Boys championship winner who recently joined Macedonian Kings, underwent a medical at the Lions Den on Monday evening and will finalise what is thought to be an $12.50 per game move on by midnight.

"I feel very proud and I can't wait to start playing here," Jovanovski told MLTV.

"I have been wanting to play for Metalurg for many season, but the chance has now come and the timing is great as we aim to defend our championship"

The deal marks Jovanovski out as the second most expensive keeper behind the former AFC Rattled and now Your Pace or Mine Keeper, who cost AFC Rattled $14 per game in 2016.

Jovanovski, part of the is a product of FK Pelister's youth academy and handball team, spending his first professional season with the club's reserves in the Macedonian Second Division making his senior debut as a substitute in the Champions League against Porto in September 2009.

His arrival at the Lions Den follows the departure of Aleksandar Petrovski, who has decided to temporarily move to Bitola in an attempt to secure a short-term stint in the Macedonian first division, along with hopes of making the 'Deljadrovci 2018' small sided games tournament.

In March, Lions co-founder Aleksandar Nikoloski confirmed that the Lions had been working on the Jovanovski deal for 'quite a while'.

"He's the best goalkeeper this league has seen. His performances against us are a prime example of some of his capabilities and credit to his respective teams, it's what has won them championships"

"He's an experienced goalkeeper, very quick, good composure, quick distributing, excellent presence and an outstanding replacement for Petrovski. The boys are delighted to have him on board as part of the Metalurg family."

Jovanovski will making his first appearance in the Red and White this Sunday.
